Blockchain alternative to the forum

The forum here is mostly dead and my impression is it (and all of proofgold.org) could disappear. Someone recently suggested to me that something like a forum (or at least messaging system) could be done onchain and the "forum"/"messages" could be read on a block explorer.

I'm skeptical that such a thing would see any more use than this forum did, but thought I'd pass on the general idea.

Also, I remember there used to be a block explorer on proofgold.org. Is the code for the block explorer available?
